USPS: Only a few days left – Deadline for next generation vehicle submissions is July 17

VMF_delivery_vehicleThere’s still time for letter carriers and Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF) employees to submit ideas to help USPS design its next generation of postal delivery vehicles.

The Postal Service is seeking employee input to develop new vehicles to replace its aging fleet and accommodate increasing package volume.

Here are a few of the most common ideas received so far:

  • Increase the size of the vehicle to accommodate more packages;
  • install shelving units, fans and a keyless entry system; and,
  • increase the height of the vehicle so employees can stand up in the back.

Letter carriers and VMF employees are encouraged to submit ideas to their supervisors or managers. Each delivery unit and VMF will compile the input and submit the best ideas in several categories.

Submissions are due by close of business Thursday, July 17.
