More Information on USPS’s “Postal Pulse”

Last month, Employees at the Fort Myers Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) began receiving service talks about the USPS’s latest version of the Voice of the Employee (VOE) Survey, called the “Postal Pulse”. In these service talks, supervisors stated that the APWU among other Unions and Management associations expressed their support for this new survey (See Below).

So, this led me to send the e-mail below to our APWU Leadership and ask them if this was true. I received the answer that I expected. NO! Almost immediately, APWU President Mark Dimondstein and Industrial Relations Director Tony McKinnon prepared the filing of a National Labor Board Charge against the USPS and specifically the Fort Myers P&DC in these charges. Here is the link to the APWU article and the actual charges:  http://www.apwu.org/news/web-news-article/don%E2%80%99t-let-them-take-your-%E2%80%98postal-pulse%E2%80%99

I have appointed Southwest Florida Area Local Vice President Dan Gray to provide a deposition for the Department of Labor sometime next week. Dan will do an excellent job representing our local and all APWU members in this National Labor Board Charge. If any local has any other information on the “Postal Pulse Program,” please forward that information to me so that we may use it in our preparation of this Labor Board Charge.

Please print, post and give the following service talk to all employees on the new “Postal Pulse”. The VOE Survey has retired and the “Postal Pulse” will be the new tool to collect all employees (career and non-career hired before pp 4, 15) views and provide tools to help make improvements.
