I desperately need information on the proper use of Pool and Relief Clerks. I am currently being scheduled to cover a T-7 position at Waco’s Main Post Office. The hours are 915-1715 Mon-Fri. The problem I am having is 68 of the last 200 work hours (PP 10-1 through 12-1).
The Station Manager and other Supervisors have made me go to another station and cover absences and annual leave. I pointed out that they needed to pay me Out of Schedule Pay (and they verbally agreed). When I received my check I had no OOS pay. After confronting the station manager, He said he “didn’t think they had to pay me, but he would check with the union.” I asked my Steward about the pay and she agreed, but nothing has happened. I finally took a detailed letter to the President so he could look into it. (I should point out that I am not the only Pool and Relief Clerk in the city). But basically I am only interested in the penalty for deviating from the posted schedule.
If any of my brothers and sisters can shed light on this issue I would be extremely grateful.
Sincerely,
Alan R Morris
