APWU Pittsburgh Retiree Record – January 2, 2017 Edition

Via John P. Richards, President – Pittsburgh Area Retiree Chapter of the APWU:

“Post Office window clerks had a tough mailing season due to reduced staffing and limited hours windows were open. Lost in that hectic activity were the significant parcel volumes that were hijacked to Staples and other private businesses due to the management frenzy to shift our work to private ill equipped and untrained non-Postal workers. Revenue and services at those operations were and are in serious question. These workers are not trained in the complicated rates and procedures that our members are. We and service to the public are the losers. We must resist this trend in any and every way possible.”
