Let me first say thank you for your dedication to the APWU and taking interest in our National Elections. I respect your choices and the candidates that you have endorsed. But I question exactly what normalcy and leadership you are referring to in regards to the Maintenance Craft. The Houston Area Local has a large number of grievances still waiting on Step 3 meetings. Some go as far back as 2014. This is not normal to me especially when our CBA states that “The Step 3 meeting of the parties’ representatives to discuss the grievance shall be held within fifteen (15) days after it has been appealed to Step 3.” I am certain that Houston is not the local dealing with this situation. Our incumbent maintenance NBAs in the Southern Region have been in office for 9 years and the other 4 ½ years and they have failed to bring any type of normalcy or leadership back. So, I ask the question how long does it take for this change to take place. Or do you expect that for some reason a light may come on and they suddenly realize they need to do in the next 3 years what they had up to 9 years to do. As a custodian, steward, and someone familiar with the Line H MOU I know for a fact that our NBA’s are not fighting for the automatic remedy portion which is rightfully ours and I have had enough. Something has to change!
