The Postal Service will honor active military and veteran employees from all branches of service with a certificate of appreciation to mark Veterans Day, Nov. 11.Employees who have self-identified their veteran status will receive the certificate, signed by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.
They will also receive a thank-you card signed by Doug Tulino, deputy postmaster general and chief human resources officer, and a newly minted challenge coin.

The items will be mailed to recipients’ homes. Employees who are veterans are encouraged to update their mailing addresses on LiteBlue.
The organization also will release a video on Nov. 9 that features remarks from DeJoy and military veterans.
Veterans Day was formerly known as Armistice Day, which originally honored the end of World War I on Nov. 11, 1918.
In 1954, the holiday was changed to Veterans Day to recognize veterans who served in all wars.
The Postal Service is one of the largest employers of veterans, with approximately 60,000 employees who have served in the military.
