8/17/2015 – A Baltimore teacher took it upon himself to make a “Boycott Staples” sign and protest in front of the York Road location on Aug. 15.

“I was out there in solidarity with postal workers who are seeing their jobs transferred to for-profit corporations,” explained Myles Hoenig, who is also a member of the National Education Association and the Green Party.

“The Postal Service was established at the time of the American Revolution. It was never designed to turn a profit,” he said. “As a teacher and a union member, I wanted to support fellow unionists who are being deprived of their livelihoods, as well as a degradation of the Postal Service when put in the hands of untrained individuals.”

Hoenig said he is also going to organize fellow teachers and Green Party members to join the next Stop Staples campaign action.
