Web News Article #: 187-2014

Ed_Schultz10/17/2014 – In an interview on The Ed Schultz Show¬†on¬†Oct. 16, APWU President Mark Dimondstein explained how¬†USPS plans to lower “service standards” and close 82 mail processing plants¬†would slow mail delivery throughout the country. The cuts would¬†affect every postal patron, regardless of where they live,¬†and¬†would send the Postal Service into “a death spiral,” he said.

Candidates for November’s elections¬†should be judged on their position on this issue and others of concern to workers, such as the fight for a $15 per hour minimum wage, Dimondstein said.
