The webinar will review the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA), focusing on the interplay between the two statutes and the differing employer and employee requirements under each. The webinar will also address recent guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on the FMLA and the ADAAA, including the expanded definition of disability, treatment of pregnancy and pregnancy complications, and the use of leave as a reasonable accommodation. Finally, the presenters will review various scenarios to provide “best practices” regarding leave requests, certification demands, arguing undue hardship, and establishing an appropriate leave policy.
