Western PA Postal Workers Solidarity Committee Update – April 11, 2016

Via John P. Richards, President – Pittsburgh Area Retiree Chapter of the APWU:

“The Postal Service is apparently attempting to subcontract virtually all window operations to companies like Staples and even smaller markets like village post offices. The ripple effect if this happens will cut deeply into other operations and will also see reduced maintenance and motor vehicle services. Yet postal workers don’t seem too excited about losing their jobs or fighting to retain them. Some are of the opinion that postal workers feel a sense of entitlement and are untouchable. If that is the case, it is a dangerous misconception!

The next Staples demonstration is at the Robinson Township store on April 17. It is not too late to reverse the limited attendance seen at Greensburg. The loyal cadre of active and retired members will be there. And also at the other demonstrations listed on the reverse. Where will you be?”
