USPS is introducing two retail technology features to better serve customers.
The first feature, available now, allows retail associates to review package tracking and the status of customer refunds through Retail Systems Software (RSS).
The second feature will allow customers to receive electronic receipts. This feature is slated to debut on full-service RSS terminals in June.
Retail and Customer Service Operations Vice President Kelly Sigmon said the new features offer multiple benefits for USPS and its customers.
“Offering e-receipts demonstrates the Postal Service’s commitment to helping the environment by reducing paper waste. And with the new RSS tracking feature, employees can help locate mailpieces faster and also track the status of customer refunds,” Sigmon said.
Retail Digest will publish additional information about both features soon.
