This management alert responds to concerns brought to USPS OIG’s attention by U.S. Senator Tom Udall’s office about poor working conditions at a U.S. Postal Service’s Office in New Mexico.
Conclusion
Working conditions at the [REDACTED] Office were deplorable. Although management recently replaced one of two heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems; heating and air at this facility have been inadequate for 6 years. Additionally, we found issues with lighting, electrical wiring, plumbing, and bathroom fixtures; cracked windows; water damage; and a cockroach infestation.
