The Postal Service is continuing to modernize existing infrastructure through the installation of new, upgraded package processing equipment. New and upgraded equipment will increase package sorting throughputs, automation capabilities for larger packages, increase sortation accuracy, and improve machine reliability.
During installation of the new package sorters, some facilities require temporary volume shifts to alternate package processing locations. Customers may see originating or destinating processing scans reflecting the alternate, temporary facilities. Below is the list of sites with package equipment installations or modifications starting in August. There are no impacts to the FAST appointment scheduling at this time.
