(October 3, 2014) The U.S. Postal Service intends to hire about 130 seasonal employees at the Louisville Processing and Distribution Facility, 1420 Gardiner Lane, to handle expected heavy holiday mail volumes through December.The positions include “casuals” who will load and move bulk mail (bags, hampers). Their pay is about $12 an hour. Other positions include mail processing clerks, who will load mail onto automated equipment and monitor the flow of mail. Their pay will be about $15 an hour.The jobs will be available for up to 90 days. Most of the jobs will be for the afternoon and late night shifts, with work to include weekends.The deadline to apply for the casual jobs is Oct. 10, and for processing clerks, Oct. 12.
