USPS: Commuter Benefit Program adds options

USPS has expanded its commuting benefits program to include biking and other transportation methods.

The USPS Commuter Benefit Program recently added shared mobility options.

Along with traditional pre-tax options like public transit and parking, the program now offers the following new commuting options to choose from:

  • Biking
  • Bike sharing
  • Scooter rentals
  • Moped rentals
  • Regular Uber and Lyft rides (when ordered directly through the program’s mobile app)

Funds can be added to an employee’s commuter benefit account through payroll deduction. Employees can use that money to pay for their commuting option of choice.

The program will automatically identify and manage all pre-tax eligible expenses.

For more information on the commuter benefit program, go to the Commuter Benefit Page or email the USPS Health and Wellness team.
