The Postal Service is offering a free benefit that makes it easier for employees who use TurboTax to file their taxes.
These employees can now automatically upload information from their W-2 and 1095-C forms into TurboTax software.
The data will remain safeguarded within USPS information systems and will only be uploaded into TurboTax if the employee voluntarily chooses to do so.
The IRS recommends individuals who use tax preparation software automatically upload information from their employers when possible.
This saves employees from having to enter the information manually, which reduces the risk of potential errors.
Additionally, the process will save employees time, which means they could get refunds faster.
USPS has worked with Intuit, the company that operates TurboTax, to offer this benefit. Other online tax preparation services have also been invited to participate in this initiative.
The Postal Service has met the legal requirements to offer the benefit to employees.
The Intuit site has information about importing data from W-2s and other documents into TurboTax.
