We went to an all-electronic job bidding process last year. We are an impacted facility but no excessing has occurred yet here. There are 6- hour jobs available in our bid cluster (2 jobs). Last week, our local managers gave us bid sheets they created for us to opt on those jobs or opt out and sign and date them. The majority of our people opted to trash the sheets. The supervisor was going around tonight having people sign those bid sheets saying that they chose not to bid. Did we ever, in the past, put in bid cards saying we chose not to bid a posted position??? Nope. The rats in the front office are nibbling and something afoul is afoot. Aren’t the bidding procedures in place a negotiated item in the LMOU? Have these changes been negotiated? Why does management want something in writing saying that you opted not to bid a 6-hour job?
