Trenton Metro Area Local COVID 19 Update – March 22, 2020

Via Trenton Metro Area Local President Bill Lewis:

On March 22, 2020, a Trenton P&DC maintenance employee informed the Local Union that they tested positive for COVID 19. They have notified management of their condition. The employee has been instructed by their health care provider to self-quarantine. I have spoken with the plant manager and he is awaiting direction from the district.

At 5 PM on the 22nd of March management informed me of the following:

A maintenance employee is believed to have tested positive for COVID 19. Management is awaiting confirmation from public health officials.

Public health officials will notify employees who have been in contact with the employee.

All employees who are sick should stay home.

Any employee who wants to take leave will have such leave approved.

Management is claiming cleaning wipes and hand sanitizers are readily available to employees, I disagree with this.

Management has claimed the areas are being cleaned where the employee worked.

I will be posting information on the Trenton Metro Area Local’s web page and all bulletin boards.

Sisters & Brothers please follow all recommendations from the CDC and the health department.
