USPS reports third-quarter financial results: Net loss totaled $3.1 billion

Total operating revenue was $18.8 billion, essentially flat compared with the same quarter the previous fiscal year. First-Class Mail revenue decreased 1.4 percent, while Marketing Mail revenue decreased 0.8 percent. Shipping and packages revenue increased 0.8 percent.
