I would like to thank all of those who sent condolences and those that were able to attend the funeral service for Ray Glasser. I know the family, especially his son Joseph, greatly appreciated the outpouring of sympathy and respect shown to a great Unionist. It has been very hard coming to the realization that Ray is gone. He was only 48 and had many years ahead to make his mark on this great union of ours. He will now, sadly, be the technical advisor to each of us from his seat elsewhere as we navigate our Postal work days. You will be greatly missed Brother Ray. May you Rest in Peace.

Ray you will be missed. You helped many people along the way, and frustrated many supervisors. Thank you for your Marine service, and thank you for your service as Maintenance Craft Director of Red Bank Local. It was an honor to serve with you as a steward in the Red Bank Local. My thoughts and prayers go to your son who you loved so much and your family. Rest in peace my brother. Semper Fi.

Ray, the first time I met you was on a trip to the PRC that you helped organize with Joe Shevlin and Mike Levine. Two buses (the quiet bus and the not-so quiet bus) full of postal workers ready to take on DC.
When my son joined the Marines we had something other than saving the Postal Service to talk about. Especially after you learned he was sent to 29 Palms in California to study electronics just like you had when you graduated boot camp.
At the NJI-NDC (the Bulk) there are many people that knew you that are heartbroken that you are gone.
We will miss you always.
Rest In Peace my Brother. Thank you for being so committed, kind, funny and caring. My heart goes out to your son, family and friends.

Bother Ray was an exceptional union brother. I had the honor to work with him since first becoming Coordinator. He was always at every Article 12 meeting, always willing to help out his fellow union members, proud to be maintenance, and always had that big smile on his face.
I just saw Ray at Mike Gallagher’s event just a few weeks back. We had a great talk and he was going to look into an Article 12 issue we had in the South Jersey District. Always willing to help out. We wished each other the best of the holiday season and would be in contact right after the first of the year.
I sincerely pray that my Mom will meet Ray at the gates of heaven and introduce herself so that they can chat for a while. Its been a tough few weeks for many of us.
Ray will be missed by all who had the honor and pleasure to call him brother and friend. I already miss him!
Rest In Peace My Friend!

First off let’s start with Ray Glasser was a great guy, great father, great family man and one hell of a shop steward and maintenance director. Ray was a bulldog with management who wouldn’t take a no response from any manager. He would solve any problem any member would have or any of the stewards would have pretty easily, including fixing all the computers. Ray will be greatly missed. We are all very sorry to hear of his passing. Rest in peace brother. God bless you and your family.

I will miss my friend, union brother and my maintenance mentor forever. Ray was an all around good guy who tolerated my OCD maintenance questions almost every day, and always replied to those questions with his sarcastic answers. Followed by, “You need to learn how to research this yourself.” And, “I will help you as much as I can and teach you along the way.” Ray and I spent a lot of time together during our days at Monmouth, sometimes arguing about his curt ways and odd mannerisms, and always laughing about it by the end of our tour! We were a team, and I will miss him so much it hurts. God Bless Ray’s family with my deepest condolences for your tragic loss. Ray was loved by many and will live on in all of us in one way or another. R.I.P. my dear Friend!!

Ray will be missed in so many ways. Not only was he a great guy and friend but he was also one of the most knowledgeable people I know on maintenance issues and the contract in general. If Ray didn’t know the answer to a question he would find it out and tell you where in the contract or ELM it was. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his local. Rest in peace Brother Ray. Semper Fidelis

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Glasser Family and the Red Bank Area Local. Ray was a perfect example of what being a “true Union Brother” meant. Ray was always an upbeat and very positive person that didn’t shy away from helping any Union Brother or Sister in need!! He will be truly missed!!
