Washington, DC – Today the Postal Regulatory Commission unveiled its new website designed to provide an engaging user experience and improve accessibility and transparency of Commission documents and activities.
Among the key features of the new site are three selections prominently displayed on the homepage: Active Cases, Daily Listings, and Consumer Assistance. The location of these options makes it easier to navigate the site and quickly locate information. The Commission also established a social media presence through the Twitter feed on the homepage as an additional path for keeping the public up to date on certain Commission activities.
Six primary menus at the top of the website help the user locate information in a coherent manner:
- About the PRC provides general information about the Commission, its leadership, and employment opportunities.
- How to Participate displays guidance to the general public on participating in Commission proceedings, filing online processes, rate and/or service inquiries, and frequently asked questions.
- Case Information covers material on all Commission cases, including a Postal Rate Commission Archive, and a document alert login page.
- References directs users to the rules that govern Commission practices and provides a defined location for all Commission orders, the Mail Classification Schedule, Federal Register notices, the Commission’s strategic plan, and the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006.
- Reports/Data distinguishes Commission data from reports the Postal Service is required to file with the Commission.
- Newsroom presents the most recent activities at the Commission via press releases, speeches, papers, and Congressional submissions.
Users can now return to the homepage from any page on the site by clicking the “Postal Regulatory Commission” name on the website banner. The Commission encourages the public to visit www.prc.gov to become familiar with the new site.
