Gallagher has referred to me as a “Nuisance Candidate”. He believes I should be banned from seeking an elected office because no one should be allowed to run, but it’s ok that someone who’s not a postal employee for 20 years and hasn’t been on a workroom floor to know what’s really going on, should be allowed to stay in an “elected” position without someone challenging the position – constitutionally, where is the justice?
Gallagher stated in part “These kinds of nuisance candidates should be banned constitutionally from running over and over again.”
The last time I checked my dues were paid, I am a member in good standing and I have satisfied all the requirements of the constitution.
I have served the membership at the local and state level honorably and have assisted any member who has reached out.
Someone who has longevity in a position should not consider a challenger to the position a “nuisance”, yes, I have sought other elected positions, just as President Dimondstein did before achieving success.
Gallagher wants to change the constitution to deny active career employees the right to run for office. This is an attack on union democracy.

In my view; representation is the primary function of the Union….#1 above all else! No argument, no discussion! I honestly want to know what the function of Regional Coordinator is now since scheduling is in the duties of the NBA’s? Again, just my view; I would rather eliminate Coordinator positions and/or turn into NBA positions. NBA’s are the backbone of the grievance-arb. procedures….which is representation! Citing declining member numbers doesn’t justify eliminating representation. What about the hiring of PSE’s now being converted to career by the droves? There’s a non-concurred proposed amendment to the Constitution to eliminate Coordinators. So, I’m not alone thinking about it.
