Our PM is trying to give our (new) NTFTR-flex a split shift schedule for this Sat. Treating her position like a PTF. This is a Level 21 office. I don’t think he can do this. But he will try anything to accommodate his needs. He has also had a borrowed PTF working in our office for 2 or more months. I wasn’t aware he could do that either.
Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Article 7.3.A.1: “With respect to the clerk craft, there will no longer be Part-Time Flexible (PTF) employees working in Function 1 or in post offices Level 21 and above.”
JCIM page 46: “Part-time flexible clerks from other installations may not be loaned into Function 1 mail processing, or post offices Level 21 and above.”
CBA page 313: “Non-traditional full-time assignments will have no more than a 1-hour lunch.” Also on that page is another important paragraph – #13:
“These NTFT employees will normally work the number of hours (daily and/or weekly) identified in their bid assignment, except in an emergency. These employees are entitled to out of schedule premium for hours worked outside their normal schedule.”
How many NTFT employees are getting paid their out-of-schedule premium? I hope the new contract has language to make payment of out-of-schedule premium automatic for NTFT employees to the extent possible.

Non-traditional full-time assignments will have no more than 1-hour lunch. Exception: in Post Offices (level 20 and below) where necessary to accommodate the conversion of PTF’s to full-time status, split shifts will be permissible.
