NLRB: Consent Order for Information Requests approved for APWU Philadelphia Local

This “Notice to Employees” was sent out this week to APWU Philadelphia Area Local Members:

WE WILL NOT fail to provide or unduly delay in furnishing information requested by APWU Local 89 and any other labor organization that represents United States Postal Service employees employed at its facilities included in the Philadelphia Installation and as described in the Consent Order (collectively the “Unions”), that is necessary for and relevant to the Unions’ performance of their duties as the exclusive collective-bargaining representative of the bargaining units at our Philadelphia Installation facilities.

The last paragraph is awesome! “In order to assure against violations of the Consent Order, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit has imposed a PROSPECTIVE FINE of up to $20,000 for each and every future violation of the Consent Order, and a further fine of up to $100 per day for each day the Court finds the violations have continued.” We need language like this in the CBA.
