I met Kim in the spring of 2012, while serving on the Constitution committee, in Washington DC. I canât tell you why or even how we became friends but we did. A friendship that will last long after our service to the APWU has ended. With this friendship comes a real understanding of the lady that wants to serve the Southern Region.Kim has absolutely one of the best minds of any officer I have ever had the pleasure to meet and my service goes back to 1973. Kim is a person that will speak when it is time to speak. Kim will listen when it is time to listen. Kim is the person you can call when it appears there is no one left and all is lost. I know I have made that call. Kim has spent all of her Union life defending her members and those that arenât. Kim has given of herself in ways few people do now days. She spends her own money, uses her leave, works a full time job as bulk mail tech, and never once have I heard her complain. Not only is she a damn hard worker but she will kick her shoes off and drink a beer with the boys.
I do have one complaint. I cannot vote for her. So to those that can. Take this opportunity to cast a ballot that the day after Kim is installed you will be proud to say âI voted for herâ. Breathe new life into your region because your only complaint about Kim will be âwhy didnât we do this soonerâ.
