People say it is impossible to prevail in a National Union election without being on a slate. Just because it may have never been done before that does not make it an impossibility. If that is the case then elected positions are simply about who can pool together the most money versus who is actually the best qualified. Elections should be based upon merit and a candidates body of work not who they align themselves up with in an election. Principles not politics.
