A developer has bought the Old U.S. Post Office in downtown Miami for $11 million.

Daniel Pena-Giraldi of Stambul Ventures plans to renovate the former post office at 100 NE First Ave. He bought the property from a joint venture formed by Scott Robins and Tom Morgan in a deal that closed Wednesday.

Details about future uses for the building were not available Thursday; the deal included an adjacent 15,000-square-foot lot.

The American Institute of Architects’ Miami Center for Architecture and Design occupies about 5,500 square feet in the 34,455-square-foot building.

Two years ago, Pena-Giraldi bought the former Miami National Bank building, 121 SE First St., with plans to turn it into the boutique Langford Hotel. An update on the status of that project was not available Thursday.
