Free mail has been authorized for U.S. service members and Defense Department civilians serving in support of operations Atlantic Resolve in the Baltic states and Inherent Resolve in Iraq.

Under a policy announced May 15 by Army Postal Programs, free mail of 13 ounces or less can be sent from Estonia, Latvia and Iraq by the authorized personnel. Contractors are not eligible for free mail privileges.

To use the benefit, mailers must hand write the word “Free” in the upper right corner of the items mailed from the designated locations.
