APWU Election Committee: Disregard the letter you originally received pertaining to your dues

May 29, 2019
Greetings,

During the week of May 20, 2019, 214 Full Dues Cash Pay letters were inadvertently sent to members in good standing. The letter you received is the normal letter that is sent out every Election year since 2004 to members whose dues are in question.

After meeting with the Per Capita Department, please be advised that your National Per Capita dues are paid through mm/dd/yyyy and you are a member in good standing of the APWU.

Please disregard the letter you originally received pertaining to your dues.

If you have any further questions concerning your dues status, please contact Merika Smith, Senior Manager of the Per Capita Department at 202‐842‐8505.

Sincerely,
Beverly Fletcher, Chairperson
APWU National Election Committee

Those letters caused a mild uproar in some “At Large” locals. APWU should not only reach out to the full dues paying members with a personal apology, but also the secretaries who may have come under unnecessary scrutiny. I was not pleased when I received my letter, nor was the secretary after I contacted her.
