Crime Victims’ Rights Week – USPS, Inspection Service to help raise awareness

USPS and the Postal Inspection Service will once again highlight National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, to be observed April 19-25 this year.

The Department of Justice organizes the annual event, which aims to raise awareness of victims’ rights and the services available to them.

This year’s theme, “Engaging Communities, Empowering Victims,” reflects the progress made since a 1984 law paved the way for national victim-assistance programs and funding for compensation.

Postal Inspection Service employees will participate in community events throughout the week.

Crime_VictimsUSPS retail lobbies will display posters, counter cards and handouts with QR codes that take customers to the Office of Victims of Crime site. These materials should be displayed in the PO Box lobbies of retail locations through May.

Employees can learn more at the Postal Inspection Service’s site.
