We have serious issue in our local. We have two members on our executive board that allegedly submitted applications to get EAS jobs. This issue is clearly covered in our Constitution and By-Laws.
After actually seeing their applications one admitted to doing it, claiming ignorance the other denied it saying he must have been hacked. The Bylaws and Constitution clearly states they should immediately be removed. The president refuses to remove either.
There was an executive board vote to agree or disagree. Then the next meeting it was supposed to be brought to a vote with the membership. At that meeting the vote was denied by the president. A motion was made to read the results of the executive board. The president denied it.
Then a motion was made to play the audio of the executive board member that admitted it because it was racial in nature. It was denied, and the meeting was adjourned right after. After adjourning the executive that made the motion to play the audio said he wanted people to hear it. The president defiantly said he couldn’t. I informed the president that they can’t control what we say after the meeting.
Audio of TMAL Industrial Relations Director asking for help (with racist statement):
The next day the supporters of accountability were decertified.
