Subject: Temperature Screenings at Postal Facilities

The APWU is continuing to make every effort ensure the safety of APWU represented employees. Part of these efforts now include the implementation of employee temperature screening. The screening equipment will first be tested at two (2) locations–Merrifield, VA, and Oklahoma City, OK—for two (2) weeks.

After the equipment testing at these two facilities, a minimum of two (2) pilot sites will begin implementing temperature screenings. We are pushing for more pilot sites as well.

The addition of employee temperature screenings will continue to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 at the USPS, keep you safe, and help protect your families after you leave work. We ask that all employees continue to practice social distancing, wearing face coverings in the workplace and public, and practicing good hand washing.

As more information comes to us, we will release it to the field to keep you informed on this new safety protocol.

Please disseminate.
