“There is a tendency for Post Office retirees to become semi-isolated after retirement. While a small circle of former colleagues sometimes forms around coffee clubs, etc., larger gatherings of former work buddies and pals seldom occur. That lack of camaraderie was the driving force to establish a Chapter Holiday Party to provide the venue for a larger get together. The successful attendance at the Holiday Parties over the years has shown the event to be extremely popular with our membership. The fact that we encourage attendance to be a family affair by bringing guests who are usually spouses and/or significant others adds a nice atmosphere to the event. The prizes that are offered to members and guests are also a high point of the party.”
