12/11/2017 – An APWU advocate was notified two days before a Mail Handler hearing on a dispute regarding scanning duties. The advocate did not have the proper time to prepare for the case as an intervener, as such they requested a continuance and the request was denied.

The case and the issue was then referred to Step 4 for an interpretive review. On August 15, the parties met at the headquarters level to discuss the dispute.

On Dec. 4, the issue was resolved with the acknowledgement that the intervening party has all rights including the request for a continuance.
