Subject: Mailing Requirements Clerks MRC Helpdesk-Bulk Mail Tech-Genysis-Service Now- 1-800 Number

Seven sites were tested using approximately two MRC per District per a USPS to APWU notification in March 2018.

The APWU held a nationwide telecon with the locals in March 2018 with seven (7) Mailing Requirements Clerks and one hundred forty five (145) Bulk Mail Clerks in attendance in an effort to defend this technology attack on bargaining unit work.

This was a priority subject in my Clerk Craft officer report that proceeded the 2018 APWU National Convention. I was voicing my concern over the possibility of losing hundreds of duty assignments.

In the September 2018 notice, the USPS notified the Union of a nationwide rollout in April 2019.

Mailing Requirement Clerks should be handling the calls. This is clerk bargaining unit work.

In April 2018, I sent the field fillable templates on Do’s and Don’ts and a fillable form to document SOX violations and poor practices. To this date the APWU national union has received only one (1) from the entire country.

It is very important that local officers share this information with the members and post important documents even though the specific notification may not be applicable your membership at that present time, as clearly it will normally be applied to your office at a future date.

We have got to get the membership engaged if they want to fend off the abolishment of their duty assignment and/or the reversion of a duty assignment. We can’t stop technology but we can protect OUR work.

PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION AND APPLY AS NEEDED. DON’T ASSUME IT WILL NOT AFFECT YOU.

NBAs, please send this specific e-mail with attachments from your laptop, because it may be too large to send from your cellphone. In union solidarity, the struggle continues.

Please direct all inquiries on this issue to me and forward all SOX completed forms to gknowles@apwu.org.

Thank you for all you do. Please share with your APWU local/state officers, stewards and members.

  1. Union and NAME of Local/Branch

My Job was Abolished in August and I had to bid on a SSDA position. I am in the same installation and am pulled off the retail window to service Bulk Mail customers. While I was on vacation last week (9/23/2019) My Postmaster completed all the Bulk mail transactions. I have incomplete statements in Postal One on my dashboard right now. My Postmaster closes out Bulk Mail daily with pending mail that may have or may not have been received in the Bulk Mail Entry Unit

Could you send me the Do’s and Don’ts Memo and any documents to defend my Level 7 BMEU job (it has been abolished)?
