Subject: Fake OIG LetterSisters and Brothers,
Please take a look at the attached document. One of our members received this letter in the mail indicating they were the target of an OIG investigation. It had the employee’s name, EIN, and location of work listed on the letter. Obviously, the member was quite concerned. My office has reached out to the Office of Inspector General and they have confirmed that this letter is not legitimate.
We are asking that if anyone else has been sent a letter or receives one in the coming days such as this to provide it to our office.
