Warning! Warning! Warning! Warning!
Subject: Urgent Do Not Respond to MRC Survey

Please share with your APWU local/state officers, stewards and mailing requirement clerks.

Completing these surveys/interviews will only lead to the demise of your job as a mailing requirement clerk or a bulk mail technician.

I have stated numerous times over the past three years to NOT participate and if you do, don’t blame the national union.

Officers and stewards have an obligation to warn the clerks.

We have NEVER gain work/jobs as a result in surveys/interviews/focus groups when the Union was not involved in the entire process.

Local unions have as much of a responsibility as the national union to fight these interviews/surveys/focus groups.

Once the local president writes a letter to your installation head informing the Postal Service of the local union’s position that you are not in agreement with the use of these surveys/interviews/focus groups involving APWU represented employees, they can’t involve the clerks. It is an Unfair Labor Charge when it directly relates to wages, hours and working conditions.

This is how you challenge these matters. The clerk division national union will fight with you at our level.

Please share this with the employees on the work room floor to be effective. We have to take a stand or it will be too late.

We have filed a national dispute but we need pressure from the local level to gain their full attention. They will violate the contract and deal with the ramifications of the violation after the damage is done.
