At a July 16 conference hosted by The Pew Charitable Trusts, Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA) shares her support for the U.S. Postal Service Inspector General report proposing that the USPS offer financial services targeted to consumers without access to mainstream, affordable financial products.
Senator Warren says that,
“It’s not unusual to think of the post office as a place where basic consumer financial services are handled. It’s true in Japan, it’s true in Germany, other places throughout Europe. It’s been done successfully.”
