(September 16, 2014) LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Lexington’s newest Village post office is open for business.
On Tuday, the Kentuckiana districit of the US Postal Service welcomed the newest office on Leestown Road.
The VPO is located at the Meadowthorpe Antique Mall.
The Postal Service unveiled the VPO concept in 2011 in response to changing mailing needs.
“It’s a convenience for all of our customers, as well as added foot traffic for the Meadowthorpe Antique Mall and of course the Postal Service. We get our products and services into another outlet,” Nick Walker, VPO coordinator, says.
VPO’s are designed for non-postal service establishments. Local shops house the offices.
