Effective July 24, bargaining unit employees with government-issued individually billed travel cards will no longer be permitted to use the cards for cash advances.
Cash advances are no longer a standard component of travel card programs. The guideline doesn’t affect other card features or employees’ ability to pay for travel-related expenses.
The change is being implemented because employees already use their cards to pay for most travel expenses and don’t require cash advances for expenses made when they’re traveling on business.
The directive was implemented for officers, Postal Career Executive Services (PCES) and Executive and Administrative Schedule (EAS) employees in May.
