First and foremost, at the upcoming convention I hope the major issue that gets attention is these latest Phase 2 Consolidations. These latest consolidations have a direct impact on our facility in Asheville, North Carolina. I wish to have this issue resolved with the utmost urgency since it does impact all usps employees in Phase 2.
Now my next issue is for the Postal Support Employees. I, myself, am a 4 year employee of the USPS – 1 casual and 3 PSE. At my processing facility, management had us under the impression that any day we should be receiving our Form 50, that the residual jobs were finally going to be filled. Then Donahoe didn’t get his 5 day delivery and then 2 nights later we got news that we were going to be closing next year. Management then emailed our Union president and said due to AMP study there would be no voluntary conversions. What a drastic change. So all I’m hoping is that this issue along with all other issues get attention and resolved asap.
All the best.
Also would like to add that we were never taken off the closure list. That conversions were going to happen anyways due to memo about the 1 to 4 conversion ratio. Our facility accepted 4 FT regular transfers and that for every transfer 3 pse’s were to be converted due to the contract. Top 12 PSE employees should be converted by seniority.
