NPC Members, as you know, I have been arranging a visit to Cuba by full-time American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO officials (national, state and local officers) from April 25, 2015 through May 02, 2015. We are extending this invitation to full-time officers from other unions to join us as well. Full-time is defined as a union official that is not on the USPS (or other agency) time clock at any time and union work is all that the official does.
We are going to be visiting the Main Post Office in Havana and working on expanding our exposure to the Cuban Postal Service and its workers. We will be visiting other work sites and be exposed to the labor movement in Cuba as well as Cuban culture. We will be there for the official Labor Day, May 1st, and joined with labor unions from all over the world!
I have attached the draft program, Trade Union Research Delegation Application, and a document on Cuban Travel advice. The cut-off date for applications is March 31, 2015.
I need to stress that this is not an official or sanctioned visit of/or by the American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO and is in no way connected to it or any other union. This is a research and educational experience for full-time union officials.
