Brothers and Sisters,
My name is Desi Neurohr and I am proud and excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Director, APWU Retirees Department.
I have been a dues paying member for over 40 years. My working career was spent in Pittsburgh, Pa. where I served the local on a full time basis for 24 years, with 17 of those years spent as Secretary-Treasurer. I also served as the Chairperson of the National Finance Committee in 2008 and 2010. Upon retiring, I moved to Fort Myers, Florida, and I am an active member of the Florida State Retirees Chapter.
I believe that we deserve a director who is elected by the members, not appointed. I have the knowledge, experience and desire to lead the APWU Retirees Department. To learn more about my campaign, contact me at retireesdirector@yahoo.com.
I respectfully ask for your vote and support,
Desi Neurohr, Candidate for Director, APWU Retirees Department

President Retiree Chapter, Local President 1974-1994, APWU DIR 1980-1983
I appointed Desi as a full time Assistant when I was Local President, the only appointed full time officer in the Union. He managed our unprecedented state of the art computer operation where he managed a staff of one. He was an LSM operator on Tour 1 and a Chief Grievance Officer at that time before I tapped him to be my assistant. Subsequent to my retirement he later endured and survived a very difficult administration, as Secretary/Treasurer, an office he continued in when that administration was voted out of office until his retirement. His performance in that office was more than satisfactory, also handling all OWCP cases for the Local. He is clearly the most qualified and experienced candidate to emerge at this time, and I doubt that anyone can match his qualifications. Good luck Desi.
